SHIP HANDLING BLOCK TRAINING

Block Objectives:
To command to ship effectively under different
conditions and to act efficiently to the emergency cases that
can be occurred on the ship. |

Block Description:
This block aims to give the knowledge and
practice to berthing, un-berthing, mooring, and anchoring,
maneuvering under restricted conditions, and manage a ship other
emergency cases, being aware of the emergency procedures upon
beaching, grounding, or collision. This block includes, bridge
resource management, and voyage planning, duties of officer of
watch, communication, weather routing, security, safety and
emergency management on board of vessels, ship handling, and
advanced navigation techniques. |

Block Outcomes:
To make efficient ship maneuver and be aware of
the all forces that effects the ship, and act efficiently an
emergency situations. |

Course Names Which are Include in the Block:
Navigation, Meteorology, Ship Handling, Safety,
Emergency Procedures, International Conventions, Search and
Rescue Procedures, Collision Regulations, Seamanship. |

Homework: 10%
Laboratory:
70%
Final Exam: 20%
* Term grades should be higher than 70
points for success. (max. 100)

Bridge Simulator Laboratory for practices,
data projector and computer for theoretical courses. |
